‘Discover Algiers’ with Amina Menia at the Art Fund

To mark the presence of Algerian artist Amina Mena in London for her participation with aria in 1:54 Contemporary African Art Fair at Somerset House, in association with the Art Fund, we are organising a focus group with academics, architects and artists on 21st October.

This event will evolved around Amina Menia’s ongoing research ‘Discover Algiers’, a long-term inter-disciplinary project questioning the use of public space and Algiers’ architecture and history.
Amina will make a presentation of that particular project and an informal discussion will follow with participants in order to exchange knowledge and experience related to their respective practices.

This event is not open to the general audience.

Participants:
Artist Karen Mirza, Stefano Rabolli Pansera (director of Beyond Entropy / Mediterranean Kunsthalle / Open Air Gallery of Mangiabarche), Aaron Cezar (The Delfina Foundation), Ed McAllister (PhD candidate, Oxford University), Khedidja Benniche (graduate in Architecture from Central Saint Martins) who attended the Architectural Association School of Architecture’s Mittelmeerland worshop in Algiers, Vassilis Oikonomopoulos (Assistant Curator, Tate’s Middle East North Africa Acquisitions Committee – MENAAC), writer Guy Mannes-Abbott.

Thanks to the Art Fund for hosting this event.
